Spokane Rock Rollers Rock and Mineral Collecting

A Club in Spokane Valley Washington that promotes mineralogy and lapidary

What We Do

The Spokane Rock Rollers Club is a non-profit organization dedicated to increasing interest and knowledge of mineralogy, its related sciences, and the lapidary arts. We promote and organize field trips to collect specimens, study geology, and learn about minerals as they occur in nature.

We also offer ongoing education and practice of lapidary techniques and the related arts.

We seek those who are interested in mineralogy and the related sciences, and lapidary and the related arts. We encourage an active junior membership and individuals who will carry our club into the future for years to come.

The Rock Rollers Club makes contributions to an endowment at Eastern Washington University which provides scholarships to deserving geology majors.

Members volunteer their time throughout the year for community services, nature-related events, and gem shows and related activities.

The Rock Rollers Club is a member of the Washington State Mineral Council, The Northwest Federation of Mineralogical Societies, and the American Federation of Mineralogical Societies.

 What We Offer

A Lapidary Shop: Our shop is open to members and staffed by experienced members willing to share their knowledge and technique in the creation of cabochons and rock cutting.

A faceting lab: Open to members that have completed a faceting skill course offered by the club.

Classes:  Ongoing classes offered in beadwork, wire wrapping, faceting, silversmithing, and many others.

The annual Rock Rollers Club Gem, Mineral, and Jewelry Show is held each Spring at the Spokane County Fair and Expo Center.

And… a library of geology and lapidary-related reference books, participation in and announcement of other area gem and mineral shows and field trips, educational opportunities, a monthly newsletter, and more!

Ongoing Activities

Spokane Rock Rollers holds Educational Meetings on the fourth Tuesday of each month at 6:00 p.m. at the VFW Post 1435, 201 S. David St., Spokane Valley, WA. Each month we present a different topic related to the geological sciences or lapidary or jewelry work, and an adult and youth drawing is included in the evening’s activities. Guests are always welcome!

The Lapidary Shop is open to members each Monday and Tuesday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. all year round. The shop is also open on Saturdays during the Fall and Winter months. See the website for more details about when the shop is open.
